Testimonials on the Mighty Rivers and Jungles Kayaking Adventure

"Thank you Green Pathways for a truly memorable experience in Nicaragua. The 'Mighty Rivers and Jungles Expedition' promised to take us off the beaten track, and it certainly delivered. Kayaking down the jungle-clad Rio San Juan was a sublime experience. It got us really close to the wildlife, we met some amazing local families, and we didn't see another tourist for nine days! A true adventure."

"Grab your paddles, pack your energy bars, strap on your lifejackets and get ready for a real adventure. Crocodiles, toucans and a real jungle experience! A truly unique way to explore virgin rainforest and the untouched estuaries of the Rio San Juan, with fantastic guides with years of experience."

"An absolute must; this trip ticks all the boxes in terms of an exciting eco-friendly adventure. We saw some of Mother Nature's best; colorful toucans, fresh water crocodiles, howler and white faced monkeys, to name just a few! It's a completely unique experience in a spectacular natural environment and is run by a great team; the guides are extremely professional, knowledgeable and brilliant fun. Not only will you kayak and learn a lot about all of Nicaragua's amazing wildlife but you'll also enjoy fishing, swimming in the river and under waterfalls, battling through the odd (hopefully) rain storm and relaxing with a Tona at the end of the day. Do it for sure, you won't regret it and I guarantee you will feel so happy and proud afterwards!"

Testimonials on the Surf Tours

"My friend and I just stayed with Rise Up for a week. It was such a great experience all around. We did a beginner's learn to surf package, which included surfing every day, all our meals, transport from the airport and to our next destination, and several fun adventurous side trips (including volcano boarding!). Oh, and we had a stocked fridge in the room with candy and drinks, too - nothing like a cold Tona after a "hard" day surfing. The house is right on the beach and you can sit and relax on hammocks and rocking chairs under the rancho as much as you want. Steve took care of all our meals and did an excellent job - we ate delicious, healthy, local food all week. And Hugh was our incredibly talented and patient surf instructor. And Phil, the owner/operator, was there much of the time making sure we were taken care of and helped arrange all our fun side trips. We really lucked out, each of these guys were so hospitable and just a lot of fun to be around. We also appreciated the fact that Phil gives back to the community- for example, he supports and is involved with a turtle conservation project near the house. Once we left there, we still had another week in Nicaragua to travel - we kept talking about our experience at Rise Up and recalling all the fun and beauty we experienced. Please go here and support these folks, it really is a little slice of paradise. Whether you are a beginner surfer or an experienced surfer, this is certainly a place you will enjoy."

"I went with Green Pathways Tours when I booked my surfing trip with my son to Nicaragua because I liked the fact that Philip and his crew are owners who are respectful of the environment and the local economy. Also, I wanted to stay away from some of the main surfing areas in Nicaragua and Costa Rica, because being from So Cal, I hate crowds. Man, what an excellent choice! My son and I are still talking about how great the trip was. Phil and his crew were outstanding hosts, the setup was ideal, and we happened to hit a week with 10' plus swell. Surfing Puerto Sandino with no one else out with that kind of swell was amazing! Imagine a goofy-footer at a 10' left point break alone . . . Don't worry all you regular footers--there are plenty of rights too. We ate a lot, surfed a ton, made friends, went on boat rides to surf spots, checked out the wildlife, drank a few beers and a little bit of Flor de Cana rum, toured the beautiful city of Leon, had campfires on the beach, slid down a 4000 foot volcano (you gotta check out the volcano boarding), and left tired, relaxed, and surfed out. And the best part is you don't have to do anything except show up. Phil will take care of the rest! By the way, my son and I felt totally safe in Nicaragua. And if you're worried about your surfing ability, forget about it. I'm average on a good day, and even with a big swell, I did fine. Just book your trip and pack your boards!"

"If you are seeking to experience some of Leon's best attributes start with Green Pathways Tours. Not only can you see some of Nicaragua's most beautiful spots you can have them shown to you by an incredible staff! They are generous, kind, fun, special people! I don't think our day would have been as awesome without them. And it was exactly that … AWESOME!!!

My 7 year old son, Julian, was completely enthralled by everything about our tour. Our guides could not have more attentive and entraining to him, as well as meeting everyone else's needs. Green Pathways is truely green from the heart.

Oh, Did I mention VOLCANO BOARDING!!!! Try it, you will love it!! An unforgettable day was had by all. Many thanks, hugs and kisses to all at Green Pathways."
